>I bet we never see that lake again.

But the geese! Remember the first Sopranos episode, the first session with Dr Melfi? We need the geese

>I did see Tony taking a long look at the boat but didn't understand the significance. Why would he go across the lake? Is there any reason he would even know what is over there? Maybe you meant it metaphorically, i.e. crossing over to the other side.

Gotta cross water. Canada? What's on the other side?

>No Meadow, no AJ, no disappointment. Unlike Kevin and an alarming number of guys on the Sopranos chat boards I don't consider Meadow the hottest woman on the planet. I do not get that at all.

No, I'll leave Meadowmania to Kevin. Now, Buffy or Veronica Mars ...

Interesting, though to see the kids change over the course of the series. In movies it happens to quickly. In Sopranos that has happened in real time ...

>Did you watch the second season of "Rome"?

Loved it. My only regret was its ending prematurely. Last episode obviously conceived as a setup for the next season.

>the best HBO series. "Deadwood", OTOH, I loved.

Have to agree. Ian McShane was genius. Carradine's Hickcock was incredible. Sheer joy, especially for a history freak.

>I don't know that I agree TV is better than the movies.

The problem is getting good movies made. The economics are different and there aren't enough good roles or good writing. And the time format is daunting. I loved Gangs of New York and The Departed ( or pretty much anything by Scorsese ) but would have loved them even more as 80 hour series < g > ( I think that is about how long the director's cut of GofNY or Apocalypse Now would have been if otherwise unconstrained < s > )

( BTW I am so angry about The Good Shepherd I may boycott movies for a while < s > )

Netflix the DVDs. Trust me.

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
