One of the gadgets for the sidebar is an app launcher...a great place to keep those icons :)
I didn't like the sidebar as much until I went to a widescreen monitor.
>>>FWIW, I had planned to wait as long as possible on Vista. But with the need to test VFP under Vista before SP2 comes out, I bought a notebook with Vista yesterday. (A new notebook was on this year's list, anyway.)

>>>Probably just as well since two projects I'm working on will need to be tested with Vista.

>>You have circumstances different from mine. You were asked personally by Microsoft to give Vista a workout, which most of us were not. (And BTW, thank you for not gassing on endlessly about being an MVP or going to the summit). Plus the two current projects. For me it's different, at least at the moment. I have no immediate need for Vista and am avoiding it for as long as I can.

>Actually, the MVPs were asked to test and to encourage the whole VFP community to test. Figured I couldn't legitimately do the second if I wasn't doing the first.

>Got most of the software I need installed yesterday, but I still have a list for today. And, of course, I'm struggling with the usual "how much shall I make it familiar and how much shall I let it do its thing" argument? At the moment, I'm trying to understand why I'd want the sidebar sitting there distracting me (particularly since it occupies the space where I usually put the shortcuts for the apps I use all the time).
