You query VFP tables from within Excel? I think there should be no problems to install it (Unfortunately I have no computer where only VFP8 is installed to test it). If you send SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR 80 before your query made your query VFP9 compatible you shouldn't have problems. Again I never play with it so I can't be sure. But VFP OleDB 9 must work with VFP8 tables.
