>Just a quick question, I have no intent of using Vista right now in my development environment. However, I would like to install it on a 2nd computer thats less than a year old (Pent 4, 1 Gig Ram, etc.) just to test some software on. The Microsoft Vista updater checker recommended just the basic Home version on this Dell.

Home Basic IIRC does not have the Aero interface, so your application may look somewhat different between that and one of the regular Vista versions.

The Home versions are like XP Home in that they do not join a Windows domain which may make a difference in how you access files/shares/resources in a network environment.
