Sorry to be so late in responding but I still am not used to the universal thread. I have problems with speed for some reason and often just give up and come back later. I guess I miss messages because of that.

Too bad everyone doesn't have a really easy interface like the Feltman VFE support. All the thread titles are in the left pane. When you select a thread, the thread headings/subject/author/date are in the top frame. When you select a thread heading, the text is in the bottom frame. It is extremely easy to see where you have been and where you want to go today. I haven't complemented Mike on his interface but since I know he reads this forum, this will do it.

Anyway back to the installshield reply:
Our "problem" is that we remove a lot of files and put in a lot of new files all the time. We have 8 or more people who may not communicate with each other. They are each working on their own "project/problem" that will result in new/changed/deleted files that must be copied to the main update server. No single person ever knows what has changed from day to day. Building a template of files is simply not a viable option. I suspect this is common in shops where there are several developers working on a single mature application that goes to many customers. Version 3.0 handles this very well and I think it is still available.
