I'm not laughing, because I don't know which half of the joke is true.

I presume that after a few millenia of patriarchal society women simply had to come up with their own bunch of strategies how to get through and maybe achieve what they want. The latter is a maybe because a lot of it was not possible and had to be replaced with substitute goals (obfuscation #1). Then they couldn't use this or that way to achieve that, so they had to find roundabout ways (obfuscation #2) and had to keep mum about what they really wanted and had to speak in polite terms if allowed to speak at all (obfuscation #3).

Of course it can't be clear. I've probably missed a few levels.
