We're using Asterisk 1.2 under Linux as a VoIP switch and planning to move to version 1.4 soon.Cool. We've just tried out a SPA400 configured as a gateway for the Asterisk box that now runs our international PBX. Essentially you register with the device like any other VOIP supplier and connect up to 4 POTS. But we need more than 4 so we're going to go for a long PCI card in the Linux box. A company called "Yeastar" has one with 8 ports for a remarkable price. If you have a better suggestion, let me know!
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
