There is no smoking gun, not yet, but this is fishy as hell. Sen. Leahy has a point when he says it's pretty hard to "lose" emails like that. (A lot harder than messing with 18 minutes of magnetic tape). It strains credibility to claim that many emails were deleted in the first place (on two systems, remember) and that there were no backups anywhere between the sender and recipient. I wouldn't believe it even if these guys *didn't* have a reputation for stonewalling.
