What may cause improper character conversion when I pull HTML page content via

lnRetVal = InternetReadFile( hURL, @xbuf, xlen, @xlen2)	&& read content into buffer
STRTOFILE( xbuf , "c:\xbuf.htm" , 1  )

Is it kind of conversion to 3 byte Unicode representation for some reason ?
Any idea how to overcome that ?
