Actually, something else is going on in that form. I tested on another simple form (just placed this ActiveX on a form) and it works correctly regardless of the form's modality status.
In that particular quite complex form I change the modeless status in form's init. And somehow the Address book doesn't work if I made this form Modal.
And even more strange: if I just click on this control from my library to put it on the simple form, the only non-default properties for the control is name and top/left.
But if I do the same for my form, I see more highlighted properties as non-default such as Bitmap - 0 and Select - 1 (Single Address). I have no idea why they are shown as changed when I drop this control on my form.
