Ok, I found out that it was not modality change (as I jumped to conclusion too soon), but rather something else. In other words, if I comment out the modality change, the click doesn't work even for the modeless form (though the calling form is Modal, hence it still may be modality problem).

On the other hand, it works in New mode after I fixed a bug (I was setting this form Modal too and I really should have set the form modal only in Edit case).

Basically, the problem may lay in the sequence I have:

Search (modeless), Search results (Modal), Tickets (should be Modal as well to work around x problem).

I'm wondering, why did I make the Search results form modal (I forgot the reasons for that now).
