We used PDFToText and TxtTOPDF utilities. One is free, another is commercial, I forgot which one is.

Google brings lots of files, one is http://www.newfreedownloads.com/Windows-Utilities/File-Management/All2Txt.html but I forgot which one exactly did we use.
