Beautiful. Works as expected. I did minor modifications to adapt to what I need.
The key, and the whole in my knowledge was in the parameter declaration. I didn't realize you could do:
@UserId char(10) = NULL OUTPUT,
and have the same parameter do IN and OUT as needed.
