What do they have in common?

http://cbs5.com/national/topstories_story_109063505.html

Many things come from China. We are worried about our southern border with Mexico, but how much concern or emphsis for safety is given to the foods we eat that contain ingredients from China and other nations?

We outlawed the use of lead based paint in our cups, plates, etc. However, I notice that stoneware from China contains lead. Is there a double standard? Protect the consumer from American manufacturing but not from what other countries are allowed to export to us.

Unions and individuals have worked hard to control and eliminate dangerous chemicals that get into our food, and used in the work place. Simply move your facility to another country that has loose or no controls for such things. Then sell your goods in the United States. Call it free trade or whatever you like.

We have laws to protect workers from dangerous known substances. Other countries have many available bodies to take the place of anyone injured from chemicals used in the work place.
