It works like a champ...in Visual dBase, though it does nothing useful.
I created this uselessness on purpose to incorporate into example as
much of what I want to know how to do in VFP as possible. I can recreate
exact same form in VFP and the functionality will be retained, but
the way this functionality is implemented into actual code will be
different. In particular the size will be MUCH bigger (it's all based
on what I know so far :) Now multiply it by the number of related controls
you have on your form and you will see how awkwardly large your code
becomes and how difficult it becomes to maintain it by let's say
interim employees in MIS department. That is why I am after this VDB
compactness in VFP environment. And again, if it's not feasible, then
the solution must lie in control arrays, just like in Visual Basic.
The problem is that my attempts to create them in design mode all failed.
And as you all see, this is as close as you can get to true OOP and that's
why I am after it.
