That's entirely the wrong question. There should be no guns in the hands of anyone, period, other than cops. And before you hand me the "If you outlaw guns...." line, this will require a gun control law with real teeth. Possess a gun, go to jail. Period. That should be strong enough to change things.

Maybe there should be an exemption for "sportsmen" who want to use guns for hunting. (Sportsmen in the same sense guys who go to gentleman's clubs are gentlemen). But it should be tightly restricted to shotguns or similar single-shot weapons.

To those who want to arm themselves to the teeth in the name of self protection, and grant the other 300 million Americans the same right, tough noogies. The only way out of the free fire zone we have created for ourselves is disarming.
