Actually I used Firefox until IE7 came out, and then I switched back. The only thing that Firefox had that I missed in IE were tabbed groups. I run AVG and see no slowdowns at all. Very quick. But I have really good utilities to keep everything nice and clean too, so maybe that makes a difference.
