>>I've used Napster for a couple of years now and love it for mp3 players. It has a play and go subscription which allows unlimited free downloads to your mp3 (up to 3 players) player on a monthly subscription. However, it doesn't work with IPODs. Is ITunes the only way to download to an IPOD? I heard LymeWire may do it... Any suggestions?

>I don't have an IPod, but my understanding is that you need ITunes to transfer music. That doesn't mean that they have to buy your music from the ITune store though. For example, if you rip your CD's into ITunes, you should be able to transfer them. If you download MP3 music, you should be able to import that into ITunes and transfer.

>I used to be on the ITunes bandwagon, but then I started thinking about how when I buy music from them I am locked into ITunes/IPods. Now I purchase my music in MP3 format and use WinAmp. I don't have an MP3 player yet, but I will get a Creative Zen I believe.

Both my children have creative zens and they both needed replacing just before the one year warranty period was up. One of those replacements is now (about 1 year later ) developing faults. (the on off switch has just fallen out)
