Believe it or not, I did that on the Atari once upon a time. I had a rotating cube, and a few keypresses would rotate it around the z-axis or x-axis, would zoom in/out or drive in/out. I actually didn't rotate anything - only moved the POV and redrew ;). It looked quite realistic, and I didn't even get the color right - used simply oxff0000 and 0x00ff00.
Now I don't have the goggles anymore, am too lazy to find another pair, too lazy to do the math again, to code it all over again, and don't really have the time.
