In all the cars that I have owned or driven, I have never seen a linear gasoline gauge. It is amazing how fast that last quarter of a tank disappears! :)
I tend to fill the gas tank when it approaches 1/2. My wife waits until her car is running on fumes to look for a gas station.

>by 3/4 tank gone it may be c. 210 miles, so I think "Well, I should get 280 miles"

>Anyway, what gives? Does this mean it pays to keep your tank over 3/4 full all the time? I doubt it.

>>What? a range of just 120 miles urban is OK?

>>>Yeh, but at .20 a gallon it was ok... :o) I remember gas costing 29 cents a gallon at the Kickapoo station in Portage, Wi when I was 11. My parents drove Rambler station wagons and always (even back then) found the cheapest gas in town.
