I'm trying not to read too much into it, but in an interview with Chase he said he didn't want the typical mob movie ending...everyone getting shot. But at the same time he also doesn't want to leave anyone with the impression that Tony, or anyone else for that matter, made it out okay despite their lifestyle.
So we shall see if he holds to his word.
