Most clients I've talked to about this, even before getting into the nitty-gritty of these issues, don't WANT multiple users to be able to make changes to the same customer/order/whatever at the same time. As a matter of fact, some customers have actually demanded an approach that follows the pessimistic rule. So I am curious to know when something different is necessary.
