We all would like for VFP to be a core MS Product and to be upgraded but as has been said many times, every copy of VFP that is sold is some x number of copies of SQL Server that will never be sold. I am sure that there are many people in the SQL Server devision that are very happy about the demise if VFP.

What really surprised me was what they did with VFP 9. An incredible update to the report writer after they had said it would not be upgraded and almost full ANSII SQL. Yesterday I was searching online for a way to do a complex SQL statement and found an example on an Oracle site. I was able to copy and run it unchanged!

Though I am as unhappy about what has happened as everyone else, I am very happy they gave us VFP 9 before the end. Someone high enough up in MS loves us.
