I think once they get themselves outa da 'hood, earn loadsamoney, and are dripping in bling, as well as growing up some, there's no reason for them to BE gangsta any more (let's face it - crime is a symptom of living in poverty) - they get all the money they need from record sales. It's like the old guys you see, very calm and respectable, but with tatts all up their arms, and "love" and "hate" on their fingers, regretting their past.

Take Tracy Marrow (no wonder HE changed his name to Ice-T!). One of the orig. gansta rappers, ex-crook, etc., but now a respectable middle-aged actor.
