Not sure what you mean by "coding time" - do you mean response time of MySQL to a query from a VFP application?
If so, I don't know, but the impact will be the same whether the query is posted from a VFP app or any other type of client application. So, if you research this question on the Web, you can use results of test queries from any type of application and the effect on VFP will be the same.
