I placed a combo box on a blank form for testing while I try to work out on the incremental search. Finally realizing with the help of the
people at universal thread, that the box would work properly if I changed my rowsourcetype=3 SQL statement and entered a select statement.

This works ok on the form i just have a combo box on, the form I have
the combo box on the grid I can't enter text unless the combo box
list is dropped down, and then it will only let me enter 1 character.

On the form with just a combo box I can enter the full text prior to
the combo box going into the drop down list. Both combo boxes are
identical except the one on the grid I call with the currentcontrol.

Any help I would appreciate, when you run into something like this,
the value of classes goes up 10 times or more.
