I believe, as I already mentioned, the problem is with ALTER TABLE.
When I put the SELECT * FROM (ALIAS()) ... before the ALTER TABLE, it all works. But if I use the SELECT.. after I add a column to the cursor (using ALTER TABLE), I get error.
I guess I will have to change my approach.
