I don't know any criminals (none that own up to it anyway) but I know people.

Incidentally as well as a rise in gun crime in the UK we have had a rise in stabbings and nobody banned us from keeping big knives in the kitchen so that can't be cited as a cause.

I think for me the main point is that you feel guns keep you safe and the US has high levels of gun ownership and you shoot huge numbers of your fellow citizens every day . So somethings not working. I don't say you should be banned from owning your gun, its your choice, but statistically its not doing its job of keeping you safe. The safest thing you could do is move here or maybe Canada.
