No need to have Vista to add these kind of gadgets on your desktop. Google Desktop does it for XP and it's free http://desktop.google.com/en/

>At this point, I find Gadgets really useful. I keep the clock, calendar, CPU/memory gage and local weather up there. When I move to Vista at work, I'm sure I will have a couple of the ping gadgets for my servers.
