>Incidentally, re: Marley, all hands know his "Legend" ("best of") tracks, such as "3 little birds", "buffalo soldier", "jammin" etc. - they get played to death. Much better IMO are his earlier albums, esp "Natty Dread", my fave, esp. tracks "Them belly full but me hungry", "Bend down low" and "Lively up yourself".
The opposite happened only to the Beatles - their early stuff is getting played to death and beyond, while pretty much nobody ever plays much of anything after, say, Lady Madonna.
As I wrote to Jay about (sir?) E. John, and as IMO applies to many artists out there - their first albums was where it happened. The later and better known stuff is more of a retirement plan than art, IMO.
