Hi Matthew

We are using SqlCe as a database option for our system. Our app is a multi-application product suite (PC) with application extensions for in-field data capture and decision support capabilities on PocketPC devices.

We are using SqlCe exclusively on the PocketPC end, and also as an option for the PC side of the equation. Larger (corporate/enterprise) installs may choose to use Sql Express or even Sql server if available and this is no problem thanks the MM.NET.

The applicable nature of SqlCe will certainly depend on your application and the demands it has. You need to remember that it is not the complete sql server (it is Compact after all) and create your applications appropriately. If the "compact" feature set fits your application then i would see no reason why you would not consider it.

We have run up against no "show stoppers" in using SqlCe. If we hit an issue due to the reduced feature set, then we develop around it.

We have developed a MM.NET SqlCe DAO, and if you would like the sourcecode pls send me a personal msg.

HTH

Darren
