>BTW, don't know if you like Django style gypsy jazz, but there is a legendary mandolin player named David Grisman who is the father of what he calls Dawg music ( Gypsy-bluegrass ) He has put together some amazing groups over the years as well as done duet albums with Jerry Garcia. The first album - The David Grisman Quintet - is a classic. Stephane Grapelli would often perform with them in San Francisco and there is a record of them at the Great American Music Hall there in 1980 which is a must-hear. Anything with Grisman's name on it is worth listening to. I believe that original group was Tony Rice, Mike Marshall, Daryl Anger and Rob Wasserman but pretty much every great acoustic musician jams with him at one time or another. ( he is the mandolin on Dylan's stuff. He also did the soundtrack for an interesting Sterling Hayden movie in the 80s called King of the Gypsies )

There is a group here in Toronto called 'Club Django', and they reprise the music of the original 'Hot Club'. They are actually very good. The guitar player admits to being in awe of Django because he plays the stuff with all his fingers intact and he says he only just manages. Interestingly enough there seems to be a 'Club Django' in California too, but I don't know anything about them.

>>Now bluegrass is one of my "back burner" pleasures in music. I'd seriously like to hear that - sounds like a fascinating concept. :-)
>>
>>I've just checked out a few sites, that seem to include the same discography, but I could find no trace of Dark Side ...
>>
>>Is it the whole album or just the title track? In either case I couldn't even find the track.

>>>BTW The Austin Lounge Lizard - always worth a listen in any case - have a bluegrass version of Darkside of the Moon. Amazing how well it works!
