Did you ever work this problem out? I see that you received not response from your question. My users are getting the same type of problem - intermittent GPF in GDI.EXE while printing - but not related to LPT ports.

From my reading of the 'thread, it is either tied up with out-of-date printer drivers or running Win95/98 in 16 colours.

Have you come across any other solutions, please?
