From that I can only conclude that Linq is supplying a feature for VB.net and C# that VFP has had all along.>
>The usual rebuttal is that it allows queries against just about any imaginable data source apart from a database, which VFP has never had. But you're right: in-memory querying and processing are things we took for granted since at least FP2.0. There's a bit of history on this topic... suffice to say that I'm just delighted to see gurus like Anders H promoting the feature as a positive for NET and even mentioning FP by name as an example. Things just keep looking better and better. ;-)
Yeah;
From hopeless, it seem that NET is turning into something that could eventually become usefull.

Now seriosely;
I hv read that link you mentioned, and aldough my relationship with .NET is still 'read-only', I can understand that they finally doing things which are closer to our (VFPers) way of thinking.
By the time extended support for VFP ends, these 'seeds' will hopefully become fruits, and there will be sufficient set of tools available out there for us to be able to do the same things (and as easy) as we do them now in VFP.
Having more choices is always good thing; So I consider it really good news :)
BTW this is great thread!
