Russell,

I support the forum because of its technical value and because I see lots of regulars here there too. The questions were interesting and I learned several things including an ability to quickly shut down my computer which I implemented here at work and at home and gave a reference to Hilmar when he was having a problem.

But somehow I see the negative attitude coming from Marcia and Andy and I don't understand what qualifies it. I never stated I wanted to be an MVP and I was helping in the forums since I joined them to the best of my abilities. I also always asked questions and actually I do sometimes ask questions without doing enough research. Somehow I can do a lot of research for somebody's else problem but very little for my own. Go figure.

Anyway, I also tried to apologize and I tried to almost beg to let me be in the forum using Borislav and Paul de Valenca as my mediators. However Eric is not willing and made a lot of accusations which I think are completely ungrounded. Funny thing is that he doesn't know me at all as well as I didn't know about him before I discovered the forum. Yet some people sent negative comments about me behind my back and as I said, I can only now guess who these people were.

>When did I ask you to apologize? You stated an opinion - kind of strange to me that you support Foxite after what happened - and you're entitled to it. My post is in support of you, but I feel a bit of anger at me from you and Edward. Hopefully that is simply my misinterpretation.

>There are some insular groups within our community (are they a "community" if they are insular and don't welcome newcomers?). I could name one besides Foxite, but will refrain. The UT seems pretty open. Sometimes I differ with Michel and his decisions, but I think he weighs them carefully and is willing to discuss them. Can't say I've seen him complain about references to outside sites, but I'm not sure how much that happens here. I tend to think he would not have a problem with that unless someone was an obvious evangelist for a site and was being kind of obnoxious about it.

>Sorry you had a bad experience over there at Foxite.

>>>Well, it's my understanding they kicked you off because you would cite information available on the UT. Does that not support my "if you can't learn it here, we won't tell you where you can learn it" statement? And you say "there are regulars who don't really welcome newcomers." This is a good thing? Regardless, I stand by my feeling of being unimpressed with Foxite.
>>
>>Whatever. I practically didn't sleep last night thinking on the problem. I do not know what exactly constitutes an inappropriate behavior from me. I did try to play by the rules. Who were the forum members who complained and why - still a mystery to me.
>>
>>Anyway, I don't want to spend another day thinking about it. Enough is enough, I stated my opinion and I'm not going to apologize more than I did already.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
