Following my last post:

I don't think this is do-able with CTE/Recursion. Where the quantity for a sub-recipe is specified as an absolute amount the total weight of the recipe is required before the amount of each 'ingredient' can be calculated.

And, AFAICS it's not possible to get aggregates within the recursive query?
