Yeah, I do try to trim off long messages. Sometimes when reading a thread, people will just keep replying to replies of replies of replies and never snip off the old stuff. I guess I've been guilty, too, but lately I've tried to do better so that, as you say, the mouse wheel doesn't start smoking and fry my finger.
