Is it possible to access stored procedures in a VFP5.0 database by using the ODBC driver?

example: I have a default value for a field in a table that runs a stored procedure to obtain a unique record ID each time a record is inserted. I tried inserting a record to this table through ODBC and the value for this record ID was NULL. Is there something I am missing??? Please help.
