Matt,
depending on your needs, Filemaker can be great or awful. If you are looking for the same kind of programming depth as you have with VFP, forget about it. It has a macro language that you generally program by recording your keystrokes or through wizards. While you CAN program it manually, it runs out of steam before you can say "how do I create an SQL view".
However, whenever I need a simple data entry and tracking system that is very quick to set up and that has a great ad-hoc query system and out-of-the-box no-changes-necessary web interface option, Filemaker is the tool of choice for me. I use it to keep track of bugs, customers and future enhancements for my programs, and it is absolutely great for that.
I looked into turning my applications into Windows-Mac cross platform apps by rewriting them with Filemaker a few years back, but gave up on that bright idea pretty quickly because of the lack of language depth and the awkward relational data mechanisms.

Is it even close to being able to handle basic to mid-level VFP stuff or not, and what about form development / UI tools?
