>I just can't stand to think of starting over with Visual Studio, and developing EVERYTHING that my app needs, when maybe a database specifice platform like Filemaker is out there. Is it even close to being able to handle basic to mid-level VFP stuff or not, and what about form development / UI tools?
What I saw (several years ago, pressumably with an older version) was more or less what others already told you. Quite primitive, no real programming language. For a rough comparison, imagine, if you will, trying to make an entire application exclusively with Excel formulae (not macros; just the formulae). Experts can do quite a bit this way, but it does seem akward.
