It still ain't possible. The problem is, lots of printing can be done off-line, i.e., to the printer spooler. I think this one can even be set up to accept print jobs while the printer is off.
Just let the user print again if there is a problem. If you need to register whether the print job was successful, you can ask the user. After all, the program has no way to know when the paper gets stuck, etc.
