>1- is it possible password protect DBF ?

Yes, there are some third-party tools that can do that. If I remember correctly, www.hallogram.com has some such tools.

>2- is it possible to pack DBF so user can not edit/danify them ?

"danificar", in English, would be "damage".

"PACK", in Visual FoxPro, simply means to get rid of deleted records.

You could change the table header with LLFF every time before and after accessing data. Of course, you run the risk of the table staying in the intermediate (accesible) state, if the operation gets interrupted.

You might also compress/uncompress the table, with some standard tools. This would only be practical for relatively small tables.

But really, if you need this kind of data security, I think you should seriously consider storing data on a database server, NOT as Visual FoxPro tables, since database systems already have these features, and many more, incorporated.

Note that I don't use any of this myself, since neither I nor the people who are really in charge of decision-taking saw this as a great priority, at Bata Shoe Organization / Bolivia. Right now, the priorities are to keep adding more modules, and additional functionality, to the existing system.
