I have inherited an application that uses views and dbcx data manager. I tried to inspect a view in the view designer and it gave an error. I noticed that the view was totally trivial: selecting all the fields and then a new logical field (.f. as marked). But it also had macrosubstitution for the where clause and the order by clause: where &cwhere &corderby.

I have tried several ways to re-create this view: using Rick Schummer's view editor, setting values to cwhere and corder by in the command window first, editing the memo field in the pjx file, editing from the view designer.

I have started to wonder if such a practice is even possible. (Maybe this is the reason the app was given to me to review. Maybe is just doesn't work. I am familiar with macro substition to create cursors and it is my preferred way of creating subsets. Could anyone give me some advice on how to edit views that have macro substituted where clauses --- not the question mark parameters but the ampersanded cwhere and corderby.

Thanks
