As I said, this is specific to HP's PCL (Printer Csomething Language), and may not work with other printers.

And ??? would send stuff right to the printer, but then it would still need to be the right sequence for that printer. Simple FF should work in plain text mode, but IMO it's hard to get a printer into that mode nowadays.
