If you're creating curDetail in the same area that curItemList uses, it would destroy curItemList.
Or if you somehow changed DS.
Perhaps some other reasons could be, but these two ideas pop up to mind immediatelly.
Or if form's Destroy method was somehow fired and closed all cursors.
Finally, I have a feeling I saw this problem discussed, but don't remember where and would not be able to find.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
