>Unlike the person who suddenly alienates a whole community with a few sweeping statements. You have just revealed yourself as a bit of an @sshole, John. I rarely get into slanging matches on this site but you're begging for it. I rarely see incompetent advice on this site and I find your statements appalling and provocative. What's suddenly come over you? I know there are people who just love to prolong a useless argument, on threads such as this, but you're just doing the same here, and everyone can suspect he's being referred to in your last comments.

Terry:

I have been called worse things and probably fit your assertion. I'm to old and set and to much of an a$$ to pander to the pablum. Sweeping statements are the norm on the UT. There are a number of superb people on this site that are active and provide cogent answers and examples. Rule those out. There are many here, who never post but lurk, rule them out also. Now think about the Terry Thurbers, Claude Fox's and William Sander's of this forum and you will see who I was talking about. Think about the petty catfights and whining by some of our members and you will see who I am talking about. Think about the absurd agendas and personal threats offered by some here, then you will seee who I am talking about. There are a few of them here out of the 1,000's of members. I am not making sweeping generalizations, I was relaying what I've been told. Again, to think that the UT is the world is folly. It is a great site for those who participate here, but it is in no way more important than ProFox or Foxite, both of which, have their Sergey's, et. al and have their community and could care less if the UT exists.

You can get great advice on most forums, but the freedom provided by the UT is probably what leads others to stay away. The signal-to-noise ratio here is unbelievable. If you look at most requests for help here, you will get a couple of cogent, spot-on replies that help. Then there will be the varied sundry questions of "why do it that way", "try ruby on rails", "don't do that", "what do you mean by column?", "why are you using stored procs, pass thru is the way to go", "Pass thru? remote view are best", "that reminds me of my cat, he like that", etc., that leads the thread away onto completely different topics.

Believe me, if you have the sentience to question whether your one of the ones to whom I referred, you aren't. The ones I'm referring to don't comprehend they don't have a clue, so would never even consider that I was referring to them.

Its not my intention to prolong this thread ad nauseum, it was simply to refute a statement that its a priority to have inter-fora relationships. It may be a priority for a few here, but the rest of the world of programming could care less.
