By the way, editing is possible either with your login (the recommended way, I believe), or "anonymously"; in the latter case, the IP gets registered.
Depending on the level of vandalism a page attracts, editing in some pages is disabled for unregistered or new users; or, in more severe cases, restrictions may be even more severe.
