Alex,

If you use the CONNSTRING clause you have complete control over which connection is used at the time of USEing the RV.
use myRV connstring m.lcconnstring
*---the connstring setting overrides whatever connection is set in the DBC
Advantages:
1) You no longer need an unencrypted connection in the dbc.
2) You can have a different m.lcconnstring at each customer (e.g. by storing it in an encrypted txt file) meaning you can now INCLUDE a Views dbc in your distributed app rather than having an unprotected copy at each customer.
3) You can get rid of ODBC DSNs on client machines altogether.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
