Hi Marcia,

I think sometimes that online perception is totally different than our intention when we write. When we are face to face, it is much easier to make our point clearly. The nuances of a one-on-one discussion are totally lost online. Also, when we feel strongly about an issue (as you do with honest and integrity), it is easy to step over the line when expressing our opinion. We have all done it at one time or another. It definitely came across as a personal attack. Frankly, I was absolutely astounded when I read the thread because I have enjoyed your posts for years and benefited from your generosity on many occasions. I hoped I misunderstood your intention. I am very relieved that the posts no longer exist online. However, I still feel an apology is in order. It is such a simple thing and I truly believe that this is a community that benefits most from all developers sharing their time and experience with each other. We are small enough as it is! :o)

>I avoided posting anything on this because I did not want to add fuel to the fire. I read the messages on the MSDN forum yesterday, before they were deleted. They were very upsetting but I did not want to incite the discussion any more than had already been done.

>I am sorry that you interpret this as a personal attack on Naomi because that most certainly was not my intention. I was merely expressing an opinion that anyone who spends more time on-line than they do performing the job for which they are being paid is being dishonest. If you disagree, you are most certainly entitled to your opinion.

>I also wanted to make the point that no one can be productive writing code when they are interrupted every 5 minutes. I know I can't.
