FWIW, I have made web apps that run as fast or faster than UT, and I am still somewhat a beginner with web apps. It's hard to call one language or platform faster than another when it comes to web apps because there are so many other factors involved. Just do a TRACERT www.website.com on the command line and you can see some of the factors.
